Polaris office 5 found in Trust go security scan

I'm not familiar with the ES Explorer interface but I'm sure it is similar to Astro. I think the tough part is you can't be sure where exactly the trojan file might be since it could just be linked to Polaris as opposed to being in a Polaris folder. You'll probably need to look on SDCard0 and...

Polaris office 5 found in Trust go security scan

I'm not so sure Polaris is the culprit but it may have been compromised by something it opened. This link to Lookout explains SimpleTemai but also claims Lookout will detect it. Supposedly this Trojan has not been spotted outside China...

Current HTC One owners, is the HTC One (M8) enough of an upgrade for you?

Re: Current HTC One owners, is the M8 enough of an upgrade for you? I was one of the fools that waited months for Verizon to get the ONE while trying to hold onto my grandfathered data plan. I got so fed up with them I switched to AT&T so I haven't had my one nearly as long as most. It's an...

challenged individual... advice re .exe file

As B. Diddy mentioned. .exe is a Windows executable file extension. Android is a completely different operating system. Android executables end in .apk normally. What app are you trying to run/install?

    HTC One 4.3 Lag problems

You could also try using the free app "Clean Master" periodically to rid your device of cached files and things running in the background you don't need. You don't need a task killer, as a matter of fact I do NOT recommend using one for Android, but that doesn't mean sometimes apps stay running...

    My camera is now screwed

Whoa. Checked the pix. Either yours has gone bonkers or, by any chance, was your phone hot (temperature-wise) at the time? There are reports flying around that the "Ultrapixel CCD" is very sensitive to heat. Beyond that I think your assessment is right on. Your camera appears to be screwed. Have...

    microUSB -> SD reader possible?

All I did was buy an OnTheGo cable from Fry's for under $10 which has MicroUSB to SD and it came with an SD-MicroSD adapter as well so I can use either type memory card. Astro File Manager app has no trouble reading or writing to cards via the OTG. I can also view pix, listen to music or watch...

Think i'm about done with htc products.

I have done gaming on my one for long periods of time while plugged into the charger and mine never gets that hot. Are you using an aftermarket AC charger? I have an OTG cable and a 32gb SD card connected to it which is where I load music and video I want to take with me. Additional storage...

"Common" complaints about the HTC One

Just to echo what the other replies have said. The ONE is still a great choice. I have relatively big hands and have no problem typing in landscape or portrait mode on it (I use the Thumbs Keyboard on mine which splits the keyboard in half making all keys easy to reach). The camera is tolerable...

iPhone to HTC One Transfer - mov format Video Files

You could always use a free app like Handbrake to convert your .mov files to .mp4 format on your PC and then move them to your ONE or, as you're doing, use a 3rd party player for your .mov files. It's always a bit of a beast to change operating systems. The stock Gallery app doesn't recognize...

HTC One - Are you happy with 4.3 or do you regret installing it?

There's a post in the Kit-Kat Forum that a dev from XDA has made it possible to use flash with 4.4. It requires using Dolphin Browser with Jetpack though. Here's the link. http://forums.androidcentral.com/android-4-4-kitkat/339242-tips-working-flash-player-dolphin-browser-kitkat.html

Anyone use/tried Dynamic Notifications app for the One?

When I'm at work my phone is on the charger on my desk all the time. It's a pain in the neck to hit the power button every time I want to respond to something when I can just tap the screen to wake it up unlocked and ready to go. I'm going to keep working on DN config and keep it for a while...

Anyone use/tried Dynamic Notifications app for the One?

Thanks to this post I decided to give this app a test spin. I haven't really put it to the full test drive yet but it seems to be relatively useful and not really impacting battery or functionality. One odd thing I can't seem to get around though. I use Daydream to keep my screen on and just a...
