    I must have a golden 505

Very cool! Fingers crossed :) In Europe the G4 comes with a 2y warranty. My 505 boot-looped some time last year. I sent it back to LG, they replaced the motherboard, and that was it. It wasn't the end of the world, to be honest—I immediately knew what was up, and customer service didn't ask any...

Got a used G4, should I worry about bootlooping?

While I understand your sentiment, I personally feel both more and less skeptical about phone manufacturers. From a consumer's perspective, I agree it would have been preferable if LG had realized early on that there was a design or manufacturing flaw in the board layout of the G4 that would...

LG G4 Bootloop or hardware malfunction?

Hello, welcome to the forum! This is a well-known (and well-documented) issue with some G4's. My own G4 just had the same issue (exactly as you describe it) after working flawlessly for a year. The root cause seems to be a loose connection with the NAND flash memory chip on the main board which...

    Android N for Nexus 7 (2013)

+1! A happy user of a Nexus 7 (2013) here. Marshmallow was a great update for the razorg - it's perfectly usable ~ I am hoping that it will receive an update to N(ougat!) as well.

The kinda-official LG G4 bootloop thread

All the talk about serial numbers and production dates makes me wonder: can someone enlighten me on the ins and outs of production schedules of globally distributed 'flagship' phones by major smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Motorola and the like? For example, for how long are...

LG G4 3 battery and in boot loop, how can I fix this?

Re: LG G4 3% battery and in boot loop I was able to charge the battery while the phone was stuck on boot screen - take the battery out, connect to charger, then put the battery back in, goes to boot screen but is also charging. I hope the freezer trick will work for you - I used an SD card from...

LG G4 Stuck on boot, how can I get it out of it?

My phone (with 505 SN) just bit the dust as well.. it's going back to LG for repair. LG told me over the phone that they usually replace the motherboard in bootloop cases - which probably makes sense if you consider the labour cost (at least in a service center located in North America or...

    When will my device bootloop?

Didn't they revise the motherboard for more recent production runs at some point during the fall of 2015? If the motherboard revision on your device reads v1.1 or higher (as opposed to v1.0 for the early models) you should probably be fine.

LG G5 - Is the camera better than the G4?

It's going to be interesting to compare the picture quality of the G5 with that of the new sensor in the S7. Last year's camera modules in the G4 and the S6 gave almost identical results, with some folks claiming the S7 had the leg up in automatic mode, and the G4 better in manual mode and RAW...

Are we all being too hard on the G5?

A very balanced post, thank you for this. I feel the main difference between Samsung's and LG's offering this year is continuity vs. change. Samsung is clearly iterating on their previous design, making very incremental improvements and, in fact, simply adding back features that were already...

    should I get a g4?

Definitely go for it — it's a truly great phone, and it will set you back less than half the price of the S7/edge. I also like the look of the G4 by far over the G5.

Battery Life and The New Galaxy S7s

It's really too early to tell — Qualcomm has promised all sorts of amazing things about the 820 after last year's fiasco. I would definitely wait for an in-depth review, and see what others say on the forum before making the switch. I, for one, will be interested in what else is going to come...

    My G4 is back!!!

I'm glad you got good service the second time around. The G4 was and still is a fantastic phone — one of the best out there right now.

LG G5 dual cameras, one main and one wide angle

The other option would have been to do what Samsung did this time around: improve the main camera and provide a panoramic field of view with optical lenses attached to a case. This will probably turn out to be the solution that provides higher-quality pictures overall, but that will also depend...

    LG G5 Module Wish/Want List

I'm extremely glad they *did not* partner with the company Samsung trotted out in connection with their VR headsets. The last thing I would want from a smartphone is deep (basically hardware-level) integration with facebook.. :-$
