Sony Xperia ZL - MHL to HDMI Issues

Re: MHL to HDMI Issues Just checking to see if you've come up with a resolution for this issue. I have to admit, the only time I ever used my BBRY's dedicated HDMI port was to go "Hey, nifty. It works." And then I never used it again. But that's just me. I still haven't tried it with the...

Sony Xperia ZL - MHL to HDMI Issues

Re: MHL to HDMI Issues Dang. No solution yet? I'm wondering why Smart Connect is getting involved at all. Its devices seem limited to Bluetooth, WiFi and Bravia-specific wireless screen mirroring. Do you have any Smart Connect events active at the moment?

Sony Xperia ZL - MHL to HDMI Issues

Re: MHL to HDMI Issues I wouldn't expect this to work, but figured it was worth a shot. Under SETTINGS -> XPERIA -> USB CONNECTIVITY -> USB CONNECTION MODE, do you have Media Transfer Mode (MTP) enabled, or Mass Storage Mode (MSC)? I'll be shocked if that's the issue, though. You'd think...

I've got the Xperia Z1. You've got questions. Let's do this.

Here's a nice article with some info on that. I don't believe the Z1 can cross-play or remote-play like the Vita, but any PlayStation Mobile game bought for one should be playable on any of the three.

Any advice on how to get the best battery life while in use?

I'll give you that. But remember, RAM being occupied by unused or dormant code is also wasted RAM. Expecting the OS to instinctively know which processes and services I'll be calling on today seems overly optimistic. That 14mb block being occupied by SiriusXM might be better used in an...

Any advice on how to get the best battery life while in use?

There seems to be a lot of debate within the commentary section of the article. Still, I'll go back to running with native Android memory management and see how it goes. If Netflix still requires reboots to shake enough of the 2gb of memory free in order to run smoothly, then I'm going to call...

Any advice on how to get the best battery life while in use?

Elaborate, please? I've noticed operating memory can fill with background apps and make life difficult for some features. Mainly, Netflix. If I don't start from a relatively clean slate, then it tends to transition into high-def slowly, drop audio periodically and sometimes even freeze...

I want to say something positive.....

My wife and I finally had enough of the BBRY Z10 faults and decided to jump ship to Android. I'm heavily vested with Sony gear elsewhere, so naturally I went for the Xperia ZL. She, however, asked me if Motorola has anything on the market worth looking at. I recomended the Moto X, which she...

    New ZL in the house!

Ah. I've been running a 32GB SanDisk from day one. So far, no problems, but I'll be sure to post here if it dies on me.

    New ZL in the house!

I know. It really is a shame. I'm a heavy Sony user starting with a pink NW-700 that's still the best MP3 player I've ever gotten my hands on. Then there's the Vita and the online gaming account it shares with both my ZL and Z Tablet. I've recently picked up one of their bluetooth headsets...

    New ZL in the house!

Congrats! Don't forget to check out PlayStation Mobile. Having access to their gaming systems was really a winning feature for me. As for the SD card image? The 'Albums' selection should compile images from the SD card as well as internal storage. Both are presented simulaneously on my...

    Should I purchase the ZL?

I can only assume this is correct. I've had my phone for a few weeks, and stumbled across the complaints after getting it. The screen seems quite sharp, the battery life is far above what I'm used to... but then I'm coming off of a BBRY Z10, so I've probably set a very low bar for myself. My...

    Remote Control and TV SideView

I have the Remote Control app, version 3.3.A.1.1 with a Cryptix General License on my ZL C6506 running 4.2.2 This device is also running a recently updated TV SideView 2.0.0 That same version of Remote Control is also running on my Xperia Tablet Z SGP311, though the tablet TV SideView is only...

    Post your screenshots!

I don't know, but I'd like to see a follow-up to this. I took my phone in to have it activated. The salesperson didn't just swap sims, but also entered the ZL's IMEI, which pushed me off of my LTE account. If your method of registration leaves the Lumia IMEI in place, you might be in luck.

    Should I purchase the ZL?

The IR blaster is very well integrated. I've yet to find a device that it couldn't control natively. I do have a very low-end RCA reciever that won't accept power on/off signals from anything but its own remote. Fortunately, the Xperia has a very simple way of programming functions into it...
