How does it hold the watch charger in the stand? Is there some kind of mechanism to secure it in place or does it just fit in?

Def not normal,,,try to make sure you have anything turned off that you dont need like GPS location, heart rate monitor, steps counter.

Thats wierd as I dont think the watch checks to see if your phone is rooted,,,if it does thats news to me?

you might want to go to the phones app menu in settings and scroll down to see if Samsung Gear app is listed if it is clear data, cache, reboot and try again.

Def and I am hoping that the apps list grows as the watch becomes more popular and as people are getting them.

Yeah not loving the battery drain on this watch but I guess if it lasts a day then I can charge it every night. Thats really my only complaint so far.

Yeah thats not good at all, I got mine at about 56 percent and then charged it the same night and left it there until the next morning and it was cold to the touch.

I received an email that said it was on back order after ordering it? Then I called Verizon and they said that it is on back order LOL I said it hasnt even come out yet how is it on back order,,cricket cricket LOL

Some times mine does not charge fully to 100 percent so I unplug it and plug it back in then it charges to 100.

Wondering since gear manager just updated again for me today if it stopped the screen flashing problems for anyone?
