Not sure if anyone is still following my other thread, but i figured out that the cause of the SOD in my case was using Antivirus software. I thought it was Lookout so i replaced it with a different antivirus (Zoner) and still got SOD. So I uninstalled that and my device has been waking up...

Hmmm...Have you changed anything in the system folder? If not then I'm not sure what else could be giving you this error. You might have to try and install it with something other than CWM

Me as well. If you're on JR003S, it won't work. This update is for JR003D devices. 3S is a newer build and it looks like we'll have to wait for google to push the OTA update and then for someone to link to the new 4.1.2 update JZO54K.

Update 3: So far so good. Booted up fine this morning. The program i uninstalled was Lookout antivirus and it has booted up fine twice in a row after being off for 8+ hours each time. If you don't have this app, try uninstalling any app that starts up on boot. Something must be going wrong...

If you really need the extra space, then go for it. Don't forget you can always use an OTG cable and mount a usb drive for extra storage if you need it.

Update 2: seems to be a software issue. Just had to hold the power button for 20 seconds to boot. Im thinking it has something to do with being rooted and/or unlocked.

I unlocked and rooted my new device last night and it booted up fine this morning. Hopefully it stays this way. If anyone is experiencing this issue, I would recommend getting replacement if possible. Reflashing the stock image might have helped, but in my case it was just easier to get an exchange.

Update: I factory reset my device and then restored (apps only) and it didn't help - I still had to hold the power button for 20 seconds to boot after it being off for 5 hours. I just returned my N7 and got a new one. This one has a "newer" serial number and it came with 4.1.1, so hopefully...

I'm experiencing this issue as well. Anyone know if this is more likely a software or hardware issue? If it's a hardware issue I suppose it'd be better just to exchange mine.

So should I back up with Titanium backup first then transfer the save to my computer? If so, then do I back up apps/system data or just apps? I have some game saves that I want to keep.
