I agree. I hated the flap and ended up cutting it off with a sharp razor. I really like the case without the front cover and it came off clean as I cut it up against the seam.

You can disable the google toolbar at the top manually. Go to settings, apps, all, open google search, disable, reboot. The gray bar is gone, but it doesn't free up space. I did this because I don't like being forced to use pixels when every one of them uses energy on an OLED.

Sorry to bring up a relatively old thread but I found this through a google search so it's still viable for people having the problem. As others have said, OLED has organic material in each pixel that physically burns or deteriorates over time, similar to Plasma. If you have a pattern burned...
