Well, Huawei repaired my phone and sent it back to me. I am looking at it now, and man is it beautiful. I will use the 1+ as my primary phone, but my work phone is now my Mate 10 Pro. Now if I could just get EMUI 9.1 :)

I don't think it is the manufacturing cost, rather the cost of certification. Also, is there a cell phone manufacturer that covers water damage, even with an IP67/68 rating? I could be wrong though.

So a quick update. I sent a request in to Huawei support a few weeks ago, and sent them all of the information requested. I was impressed that they responded so quick. Then, they went radio silent for 2 weeks and I figured it was because the device was over a year old. I shot them an e-mail...

I did. It is a really good phone, but it isn't a Mate 10 Pro. There is a feel in the hand that the Mate provided that the OnePlus doesn't. Not to say the OnePlus is a bad, but I think the Mate was better. With that said, I did drop it a few hours after I got it and the case provided in the box...

I pinged them yesterday, and they did ask for more information (all the basics first) and pictures. We'll see if they go further.

Yes, it is the back. I can't tell if it is the battery. I think I'll head to T-Mo for a OnePlus 7 Pro and give that a whirl.

Looks I can't wait for the war vs. Huawei to end before I get a new phone. I was hoping for a Mate 30 Pro in the U.S., but it looks like my Mate 10 Pro is going to die before that. Has this happened to anyone else? The phone is beginning to separate. Just noticed it today.

For me, Android Auto is working even better now too. I am not using an "official" version on my Mazda6, but the Mazdatweaks one. It was starting to act up, but I think Pie is helping with the BT connectivity as well.

got it last night. Seems to be working quite well. Is it really a little snappier, or am I just projecting?
