As an update. Wife took into the sprint store and confirmed her phone is affected. Told her will put her on replacement list and to expect her new phone in 3 weeks. They'll call her and she has to go back in.
Wife was just told she has to take it into a Sprint store with a technician. Directly contradictory to what online Sprint was passing information wise. She is going to head to the authorized store after work tomorrow.
Wife had the data problem when data was turned on. Went into sprint chat on my properly functioning s9 and they are aware of the problem. Told her to take phone to sprint corporate store and they will exchange as they are aware of the problem.
