    Setting a preferred phone number in Contacts

    In the Contacts list, if you press and hold a contact you get a pop-up with the option to "Mark as default". Would that help? I believe there are also SMS apps that only show mobile numbers for contacts but I haven't researched that yet.

    Playback of messages not reading message body

    Are you using the stock SMS app? I think I read somewhere that the "read aloud" feature breaks on 3rd party messaging apps.

    Lag on the Vivid??

    If you put the Vivid side-by-side an original GS2 (with an exynos processor) you'll notice a bit more lag on the Vivid when scrolling in general. It's not really too bad though. A friend moved from an iPhone 3GS to the Vivid and hasn't complained about it so far.

    Here's a thread from xda with a link to an apk: Official HTC Flashlight apk - xda-developers Haven't tried it myself.
