    New Nexus 5 owner

Re: New Nexus owner I agree. The Nexus 5 is an amazing device. (coming from Galaxy S's 2/3) But yeah, people on these forums are amazing. Good folk's here. I've gotten myself out of some bricked device situations a couple of times... Bricked my Nexus 7(2012 version) once, My wife's Nook Color...

How to reboot the Nexus 5?

Re: How to reboot the Nexus 5 Like you, I also came from a Galaxy s2. I absolutely love my Nexus 5! Like others have said, just hold down the power button until reboots. (Some people call it a warm boot) Posted via Android Central App

Lost "navigate home" on Moto X with update to 4.4.2

Mine had some strange bug that didn't recognize my home unless I spelled it out word for word... It fixed itself once I deleted my home and work addresses from Google maps app. Then saying "OK Google navigate home", gave me an option to put in home address for Google now. Other than that one...

Lost "navigate home" on Moto X with update to 4.4.2

It may be slight differences in devices too. Moto X vs Nexus 5. I haven't spent much time with the moto x but from what I've seen its a pretty awesome device. Every device has its "quirks" I suppose. Like Google now, hands free, only works on the home screen(Nexus 5). I think the Moto X is...

Lost "navigate home" on Moto X with update to 4.4.2

As far as telling your navigation directions, it may be that maps were pre-cached. My old Galaxy s2 still gave directions as long as I had GPS signal. And some parts of Google now are pre-installed for offline use. Posted via Android Central App

Lost "navigate home" on Moto X with update to 4.4.2

I have finally found out the problem. Open your Google maps app. Go to settings. Where it has "set home/work", delete them. Do not put you addresses back into Google maps. Close the app after erasing home and work address. Now go to your home screen and say " OK Google, navigate home". You'll be...

Lost "navigate home" on Moto X with update to 4.4.2

Yeah its a pain to do a factory reset. That's exactly what I ended up doing. In fact, its because of the factory reset that I notice "precise location" at the bottom of the main Google search page. Since I basically had to setup everything from scratch. Good luck, hope it works out. Posted via...

    Considering buying Nexus 5

I own a N5 myself. I came from Samsung Galaxy 2 and 3. It's the best phone I've ever had so far (Nexus 5). I got the Nexus 7 two years ago (2012) and was awe struck at the speed and reliability of the device. My Nexus 5 is literally twice as fast. I was considering the Moto X, but decided the...

Lost "navigate home" on Moto X with update to 4.4.2

I had the same issue with my Nexus 5. Navigate home would give me 3 random locations with "home" in description. The fix... When you sign into chrome, allow its access to your location. In setting allow Google to track you. That worked for me.

Virgin Mobile S2 4G has clockwork, but all roms give Status 7

Virgin Mobile S2 4G has clockwork, but all roms give Status 7

Click on the link from my original post yesterday. You'll want to flash the recovery on the repository site. It's a "One Click" method that requires a pc. But just follow the rooting guide and it flashes the recovery. There's always a chance that you could make an expensive paperweight/Brick. So...

Virgin Mobile S2 4G has clockwork, but all roms give Status 7

I'm uploading to dropbox now. Its a massive file so its taking a minute. Do you have custom recovery flashed to your phone? If not you'll need to do that 1st. Click on the link that I posted yesterday. Follow it step by step. (Credit goes to Rwilco12 over @ XDA, he's got the tools and the know...

Virgin Mobile S2 4G has clockwork, but all roms give Status 7

I've already rooted my VM SGS2. I have a nandroid backup you can have. It may be worth a shot. You need to have agat recovery installed. Thats the only way to flash rom. Don't use CWM on this phone. CWM works great on OV &Triumph but not so much this one. Heres the link that i used to Root...
