    Nexus 4 vs Nexus 5

Whilst trying to desperately drag this thread back on topic and hopefully prevent a bun-fight, my take on the whole phone/spec/new release etc thing is this: Whatever top-spec phone handset you buy today will be second-rate in a couple of months or so. Certainly in 12 months time it is likely to...

Your real world experiences with the N4

Well, after two weeks living with the phone I thought that I'd best report back with my experiences and thoughts of it so far. I have to say that in day-to-day usage this thing is awesomely fast. I don't care what any benchmark tests say, in general use this is just as fast (if not faster in...

    Late to the Party

I came to the N4 from an HTC Sensation (and a brief flirtation with the HTC One) - and my advice would be that the N4 is an awesome handset with a few caveats. If I was getting a handset on a new contract than I would be looking at either the HTC One (preference), Samsung Galaxy S4 or Sony...

Nexus 4 in UK TV ad...

They seem to be used in quite a few adverts (especially on-line or magazines), I can only assume that it is because it is one of they few handsets without any manufacturer name on the front. The carious I-Phones are also used as they are the same.

Nexus 4 with Orange (EE) PAYG

Go into Settings > Wireless & Networks > More > Mobile Networks > Untick "Data enabled" & "Data roaming" It will only use data over wifi then & not your network carrier 3G signal.

Your real world experiences with the N4

Well it arrived less than 24 hours after placing the order - good show Google! So far impressions are favourable. Even though I have the Nexus 7 already, getting used to the vanilla android on a phone is going to take a little bit of getting used to, especially after having the Sense UI on my...

Your real world experiences with the N4

The majority of my media is music, however I cleaned out a lot of the tunes that I don't ever listen to from my existing handset and after cleaning a few other bits have surprised myself on how much memory that I've managed to recover - I suppose that it will ensure that I do a bit of...

Gone for a black one - didn't see if the white was available for UK yet - tbh I'm conservative in my choice of colours for phones so the white was never an option for me, just personal choice of course.

Thanks for all of the advice folks - I've decided to take the plunge and have just ordered myself the 16GB version. Just have to wait until it arrives now - and order myself a decent case as well as I don't want that fragile back breaking ;)

Your real world experiences with the N4

I really appreciate the comments so fay - there are some very informative points that have been made and some compelling arguments. Price is obviously a consideration for me - while I am lucky enough to be in a position to spend the asking price on a SIM free HTC One/SGS4/Xperia if necessary...

How do you get along with your Xperia Z?

Hi folks. I've recently had a bad experience with the HTC One, which has resulted in me being back in the market for a new handset (UK). As it stands, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is not an option as I really do not like the Touchwizz interface and it is too expensive. Obviously my experience with the...

Your real world experiences with the N4

After a failed flirtation with the new HTC One (first handset returned due to hardware fault, subsequent handsets returned due to faulty screen production issues), I'm now back in the market for a new handset while "struggling" along with my old HTC Sensation that now feels like it was built...

    Another handset, another problem?

Unfortunately I've had to admit defeat with my handset :( After taking several handsets out of boxes in three different stores, they all have the same lines on them - some more obvious than others strangely. I know that I am probably being overly picky but as I know that they should not have...

    Another handset, another problem?

Okay, I think that I've just about been convinced to give the One a further go - there really isn't another handset out there that ticks all the boxes quite like this one does. I'll try a different store to see what their stock is like - and if necessary go through every box that they have until...

    Another handset, another problem?

I have to disagree. This is the first time I have seen these lines on any touch screen phone that I have. The first (faulty but replaced) handset did not have them, neither does either my Sensation (or the wife's). I am sure that they are there, but they should not be visible on a device. The...
