Yes, download the maps from Google and they should work. However don't forget that Google isn't the only place to get maps. There are several good map apps available on the play store. I like Navfree and Copilot. Depending on where you live make sure you get the best one for the country you live in.

Are you using he power on/off or the reset by the usb input? Also try plugging it in and letting it charge for an hour or so. Low batteries cause all kinds of strange reactions.And let us know what you found that works. If all else fails send it back to the factory for a replacement.

Found the answer.. It seems that it is necessary to delete the app and the folder that held the original data and app info.. Then do a completely new install. Go through the complete setup and then it works. Pain in the neck but what can you Do?
