Followup to my query. After upgrading to Android 9 on Samsung Galaxy A8(2018), bluetooth failed. After first update, problem persisted. Now with 2nd update to Android 9 in July 2019, problem is resolved.

Samsung Galaxy A8 no longer able to link via Bluetooth to my car (Ford Sync) or other Bluetooth devices after upgrading . Previous Android 8 worked fine. I fully factory reset and reinstalled apps manually one by one but no luck. At one point, turning off the NFC in settings enabled nearby...
