No, you need a SIM to use it. Unfortunately, if you do a *228 it messes up the SIM in some cases and disables it - what they referred to as retired. That being said, go to any Verizon corporate store and they can activate and give you a SIM for free, on the spot.

me too. curious to see if costco undercuts it or not, and if so, by how much. may not be worth returning and transferring everything for $20-$30, but depends on how much costco's price is. if you buy from let's talk, do they reverse the upgrade and make you immediately eligible for upgrade...
