I went with the pixel and couldn't be happier. I always seem to compare phone sizes with 5.5 inch screens to my old lg g3 and they are always bigger. hence why I went with the regular pixel.

Pull down the notification bar and hold and press the settings icon. It will spin which will unlock the system ui tuner in the settings menu. Go to status bar and you can change the setting at the bottom. Just an FYI it will out the percentage inside of battery. If you want it to be bigger...
