This was happening to me on my 2XL a few weeks ago, and yesterday and today on my 4XL for Android Webview. Clearing cache all on its own for Play Store didn't do it, but clearing bot cache and data did get me updating again properly.

This could all depend on the particular panel, but turning off Ambient EQ and using boosted cooled the colour of my 4XL screen to acceptable levels for me. I prefer slightly cooler screens.
