So I disabled the google app, but now I'm wondering if I can enable it again and roll it back to the originally installed version. I thought there used to be an option for this but can't find it now. Thought I'd try that and see if everything else still works.

Seems to be. At least for now! Google play apps install correctly, notifications work so far. One of my two broken apps is working again. Not sure what the deal is with the CBS News Radio app though.

Wow, this is working for me so far... but yeah, I hate to lose the ability to use the google assistant. Grateful for now though!

Yeah adaptive battery is already off. Battery on "high performance" The regular "monthly" software updates make no difference. I know if I bring this back to Best Buy, they'll have no clue. I wonder what recourse I have?
