    Also, if you have DropBox or OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive, Microsoft's cloud service) installed and configured, you might be backing up your photos to either of those services.

    Possibly a driver issue on the target laptop? I would uninstall all HTC software and reinstall at least the HTC drivers. HTH
