Still offering rooting help? Picking up new (1st) thunderbolt. want to run stock for a bit to see if i like sense or want something else. Then would like to root and possibly add rom.

I can upgrade phone in 2 weeks was thinking the tbolt would be the good choice with verizon. Never had luck with samsungs so they are out of choice list. Any advice on choice? Also dont know why to root what are perks to rooting and what all is involved? Any advice/info or any help would be...
