Are you gonna buy a pixel or the 3 XL

Same. Gonna keep my OG Pixel and see what kind of deals pop up in the coming months. $800+ is too much for what this is.

I bought the 128 GB White P3XL. What did you get?

Waiting to see what kind of deals pop up in the next two months. Verizon was offering a half-off promo for the original Pixel in December, we'll see what they do this year (if anything). If the deals are no good, I'll keep my OG Pixel. $800+ isn't worth it; I don't care how good the camera is.

Android 9 Pie... Do you like it?

    Ah, gotcha. That makes sense.

Android 9 Pie... Do you like it?

Display brightness definitely seems lower. I used to keep adaptive brightness at a little more than halfway. Now I have to pump it up to around 80% for a similar level of brightness.

    Apps not working on Pie

Messages on my OG Pixel will sometimes give me multiple notification sounds when a text comes in if I'm in the app at the time. Not broken, but kind of annoying.

Anyone holding on to their original Pixels?

Why wouldn't I? It works great, still looks great, and getting regular updates. I see no reason to give up my Pixel for an incremental upgrade. Plus it has a headphone jack. :P

Are you going to upgrade to the Pixel 2?

Nope, especially if the pricing rumors are correct. I see no point in upgrading from the original Pixel after only a year of use.

anyone got the Sept security patch on VZ

I got it a day or two ago.

    Data usage after Oreo

Just flipped the switch on mine as well. I wonder if this has something to do with some people's battery issues?

    Pixel Voicemail Shortcut Missing

Yep, this is the fix for this odd bug. I've had the VVM tab disappear twice on me now since picking up my Pixel in December, but turning it off and back on has fixed it both times.

    Pixel Bluetooth issues

Yeah, toggling BT off and on works as well, as I also recently discovered. An annoyance but not a big deal.

    Pixel Bluetooth issues

One thing that has cropped up for me with my Pixel and 2016 Mazda6 is sometimes the car decides not to reconnect to the phone when I start it up. I know it's not the Pixel, since my Moto 360 is still connected (and the phone itself, if you go into the settings, thinks it's connected to the car)...

    Pixel Bluetooth issues

I have not had any issues with my Pixel and a 2016 Mazda 6, or my 2014 Moto 360. Both paired right away with no issues. I haven't tried connecting it to anything else yet.

Verizon Installed Software on Pixel Purchased from Google

    1. Yes. It's the Verizon sim that prods the Pixel into downloading the three Verizon apps. 2. All three apps can be uninstalled. Updates (supposedly) come direct from Google, no matter what network you're on.
