I bought my Evo 3d last week, and the market looks just like it did on my Moment that I got 2 years ago... What are the advantages to the new one?

I'm pretty new to this whole smart phone scene, so please bear with me. I keep reading that there is quite a hype about ICS (ice cream sandwich ?? ) From what I'm HTC/Sprint should be releasing it after the 1st of the year. So.. WTF is it?:)

I've been using the app Zedge for my custom ringer program. How can I make custom ring tones for the notifications with out rooting?

Picked up my new 3D this afternoon. It replaces my ancient samsung moment. The phone is wicked fast, but has alot of extra crap on it that i'll never use.
