I solved it. I rooted my N7 and installed Cyanogenmod 10.1 ROM. Works great now! Sent from my LG-VM696 using Tapatalk 2

If you want to tether your Nexus 7 to your phone, then go with CyanogenMod 10.1

Hey everybody, I was also having this problem. My nexus is rooted and finally found a rom that supports adhoc Wi-Fi. It is cyanogenmod 10.1, now my nexus can come with me!

I installed the app, System Tuner. After it's installed and you give it permission. Go to the CPU area and you can increase the processor speed.
