Which ROMs have you tried? Have you try other ROMs? For my experience, I root my phone with one ROM and it wasn't working. When I tried with another it is fine. Also, what specific ROM and ROM version are you installing? Do they have an older (more stable) version?

Have you also consider configure your phone/ipad to use less power? For example, disable auto updates, turn off Bluetooth/wifi and reducing the screen contrast can help.

I am pretty sure you don't have KitKat on your S2 if you are waiting for Samsung to come out with it. I use Slimroms and got KitKat version on my S2. Works like a charm :)

I use Chrome, FF and IE (I am PC Guy). What I love about Chrome is that once i am signed in on all my devices, it auto sync. I can be walking to work using my phone's Chrome to read a website. When i go to my office, i can use Chrome on my PC to go back to the same page. So simple ;) I love it!
