Do any of the EI22 ROMs fix the lousy wifi?

Ok... so I wiped my phone with a factory reset (and, coincidentally I installed "mostly stock GB ROM", which should have had no bearing on wifi) and my wifi seems to be back to its old self - consistently 8-9MB/s download at home again. Thanks for the tip, btc!

    Rooting EI22 Gingerbread Instructions

The top of this thread (information... files to download) has a link to it. It isn't on Chirs41g's page... it is in the XDA developers forum. I'd repost the link... but apparently I'm link-challenged... grrr....

soo....are they gonna fix the GPS problem or not..

On a sample space of 1... I rooted and put in "mostly stock" GB, including Nubernel's kernel (which includes the gps fix to use more than just 3 satellites)...I didn't know if this would alleviate the gps lockup issues or not, our just give me faster gps lock and better accuracy... On the way to...

nope... not sure why it kept doing that. Turns out that the files were actdual md5 files, and I was able to just rename them and voila!:D

    [ROM]Mostly Stock EI22 | Update 4 11/12

If I hook up my phone to my pc, I can SEE the tar.gz files that the backup made (I think)... but drat... my new download of Titanium just doesn't see it. So... just to clarify - a Nandroid backup is what you are calling the backup I made using ACS - and that is a complete "binary" copy of...

    [ROM]Mostly Stock EI22 | Update 4 11/12

As I read your post not 5 minutes after I just wiped all my data... sigh. So.... looking for some guidance. I made a titanium backup before installing mostly stock... but titanium was gone when I rebooted into the new ROM. So I reinstalled it from the Market... but it doesn't...

UPDATE - so I checked the file out, and it looked like a valid MD5 (the hash at the bottom was the right size, etc), so I went ahead and downloaded it - seemed to be fine... so... ok... moving on! UPDATE 2: And... now I'm rooted. Wow... that was really, really easy... you guys rock for...

Do any of the EI22 ROMs fix the lousy wifi?

It has occured to me that it was just displaying differently... but looking at my SpeedTest logs, I was definitely getting better throughput more regularly before. Maybe its a RoadRunner issue... certainly wouldn't surprise me... though I'm not seeing any degradation on my laptop... hmm.

    Rooting EI22 Gingerbread Instructions

So my pc downloaded the files as .tar.tar files... no MD5 at all. Can I just rename the file by removing the last .tar (which windows added... gee thanks) and replacing it with MD5? Somehow I'm thinking this is a really stupid question... sigh... I was just going to strip off the last .tar...

Do any of the EI22 ROMs fix the lousy wifi?

I guess I should have been more specific... my wifi (and not just mine, based on what I've read) performance with stock EI22 degraded significantly compared to stock Froyo. I never get the same "number of bars" per se that I did on Froyo...and if I use SpeedTest, I see ~5-6M download at my...

Do any of the EI22 ROMs fix the lousy wifi?

So I've been patiently waiting (ok... not that patiently) to see something pop up on the forums like "this ROM fixes the now-lousy wifi on Gingerbread"... but... I haven't seen it. Anybody have the scoop on why the wifi went from "fairly good" in Froyo to "basking in adequadicity" on...

    [EI22][GINGERBREAD] Gingerbread " Bug Thread "

Sigh. Same here... wifi connectivity at home seems to be significantly degraded. I can't seem to get more than one or two "wave bars" and I used to get 4 steady. On the positive side, I think my 3G and 4G connectivity may actually be a little better... :-\

How is battery life on Froyo EC05 so far? *poll added*

So just curious... with Froyo, are applications such as Juice Defender useful - or does it just fight against the OS? I've read that EC05 is much more active about controlling background services/data... The last thing I want is to spend all my battery turning on services 200 times because I've...

How is battery life on Froyo EC05 so far? *poll added*

So I have to say, I don't think I've ever gotten the battery life that a lot of folks tend to report... 24 hours? Not on my Epic! My question would be: are people who get this awesome battery life using 4g? I am... and maybe that's my killer? The only time I turn off 4g is when I am at home -...
