    If anyone reading this thread has successfully managed to get mtp working on WinXP (yes, I downloaded the XP add-in), I'd like to know. The only success I had with my OneX was the HTC sync manager, but, it's junk: I wanted to sync a single video file & it started downloading all phone pics...

    Can't hear phone calls unless it's through rear speaker or headphones

    One hail Mary you can try. Spray the headphones plug with a bit of WD40 & then plug + unplug (headphone jack) multiple times. In the off chance this is a stuck hardware thing, this might help. Otherwise, probably a warranty repair & nothing software can properly fix. Sent from my HTC One X...

    I'm also fairly new to Android. I had the HOX vs. SGIII choice & went for the One X. From a spec perspective, yes, the Samsung wins mostly (SD, bigger batt, etc...).     Take a look at Android-sync.com. I have nothing to do with them ... just bought it myself and am quite happy. As the poster above me pointed out: you might want to review the Getting started link first: you might find Google Contacts/Calendar /Tasks to cover what you want (cheaper and easier)...
