It seems like you have exhausted each externally affected option, all you seem to have left is something internal with the phone itself. Have you tried to wipe and restore the phone OS? Maybe the USB driver on the device is corrupted.

Great advice from GTWalling (as usual). Another thing I noticed you didn't mention; trying a different USB cable. I've had one (non-stock) go bad on me before. Especially since you mentioned trying on different computers.

That is something to look into. I had an MP3 go rogue on me and I only narrowed it down when it crashed my phone multiple times on the same song. Instead of loading all of your info back onto your SD card, try just loading the offending movie file. Play it and see how it does. If it crashes...

Well, the good news is that I didn't have to keep doing that. I read that tip on these forums, followed them and my battery problems were fixed. If you continue to have problems, I would start to look at things like the actual battery, your charger or even the charging port itself.

If by 'system files' you mean all of the apps you have loaded on your phone; I have used App Backup & Restore. Works well...

Have you tried a "Factory Data Reset" yet? I had awful battery drain right after the JB update. I did that and let the phone run down to under 10% battery life and performed a regular restart. This worked great for me. Good luck.

Sorry, I meant "Factory Data Reset". At first I upgraded to JB in place, but I was experiencing battery issues and slowness. All is well now. Think of it like this, a little hassle for a couple of days; and peace and tranquility for months to come. :)

I corrected my battery issue (similar to yours, draining quickly with minimal use) by do a restart once the battery was drained. So let your phone get down to under 10% battery life and perform a restart. Then charge as normal. This worked for me.

I just tried it and it worked fine for me. Did you do a hard reset or an upgrade in place when you went to JB? I upgraded, but then did a hard reset and complete reinstall since my phone was slowing down drastically. Everything is perfect now.

I tried to setup and use Skype on my wifes and my GS3, but could never get it to work. We use ooVoo now. Seems to work well.
