OK, thanks, that's good. Now I can select a ringtone. But it doesn't ring!!!! Still a mute phone. Volume is up full, speaker works fine, no DND in place.

My moto G5+ has lost its ringtones. Settings>sounds>ringtones>SIM1 shows no ringtones. If I reboot into safe mode, they are there, but only in safe mode. But even in safe mode it doesn't ring. My phone is locked into mute mode. How can I fix this? thanks

actually the settings>sounds folder is empty. if you know of a brief, quiet notific ation, please let me know

I can't work out a way of having visual, silent notifications. I want my ringtone loud and notifications unobstrusive. A slight beep would be OK. Does anyone know a way? thanks

just bought a MotoG5+ XT1685, and the "ok google" voice recognition doesn't work. In google app>settings>voice, there simply isn't a "ok google detection" option. If I tap the microphone symbol and speak, starting with "OK google" it works. But I can only get to this by tapping the microphone...
