As a followup, i ordered an H20 Wireless sim from amazon for one cent with prime and recieved it this morning. activated on a pay per go plan for $10 and it works fine on hspa. Going to give this a go and see how long it takes to run out of data.

So, I swapped my iPad sim with the wearable and left my phone at home today, no issues communicating with the phone at all. I will not have talk or text, but to be honest that's not really what I want it for anyway. Just a little worried that I won't receive updates if I decide to keep it. Thoughts?

I'm really torn now. I love the watch and find it to operate as expected except for the cellular issue on tmo. But I don't want to keep it if I can't get the cellular working

Its understandable, but surely there has to be some way to distinguish what kind of device is being used.

Well thats disheartening :/ i have had some luck using twitter to get things done, i just sent one to john legere saying that we want to bring our devices. We shall see if he responds.. Usually he has the techsupport contact me back though.

This is exactly the issue. They cant determine that the device the wearable sim is in is actually a wearable. So it will not provision on their network. They need to figure it out real quick though because I am going to have to return it within 14 days if it doesnt work.

Hey OP, any help here Since the OP made this guide, I assume he was able to get this working somehow. Can you please explain to the rest of us which rom you were using and the exact procedure you used to obtain your MSL?

We all have the exact same hardware. It shouldn't make a difference at all. The only thing thay would make a difference is the rom and kernel. Sent from my Optimus V

im using sublimewolf's from xda forums. its a stock rom without the crapware.

i am not having any luck flashing new kernels. they all freeze at the lg logo and i have to restore from nandroid. has anyone tried flashing just the kernel and not the rom and have it be successful?
