I hate to say it, but go back to 10.0 and wait until they put 10.1 on the official list. I want to switch so bad because of the new camera feature in 4.2, but I'm waiting until the official version is out or at least a stable candidate on the CM site.

Did you do a full wipe and cache clear before going to 10.1? Do your gapps match your version of 10.1 (prob doesn't matter just curious)

I had the same issue when I first rooted and stayed on stock rom. There are lot of hacks to run tether on stock rom, but they all looked much more difficult to me then just installing a custom rom. CM is great and tether works right out of the box.

Sounds like you just need to get an extended life battery. All of those things you listed will kill the battery regardless of the rom you are on.
