I found a way to downgrade the phone here LG G5 Nougat update killed LTE I'm personally not going to try it. Just easier for me to return the phone at this point.

It is definitely a Nougat problem. My wife has the same phone and is running Marshmallow and has no problems staying on 4G/LTE. I'm worried we will be waiting a while for an update from LG to fix this issue.

I'm having the exact same issue. I believe it is related to Nougat. My wife has the exact same phone but has not upgraded to Nougat and she stays on 4G/LTE all the time. How difficult would i be to downgrade the phone back to Marshmallow?
