Hi! A bit late to the party, but I recently got an M.2 USB case to convert an old ssd into a USB drive. When trying it out on my pixel 7 Pro I ran into the same issue as you, where the Google files app detects the drive, but does not allow me to write to it. I tried total commander and it allows...
