Seriously...do you even know what you're talking about...a stripped down version? What do you think is included in 2.1 that makes it all that different? You do realize that HTC has to take the 2.1 O/S and integrate it with HTC Sense before Vz gets their hands on it. This isn't like the crap...

You also may want to try temporarily removing the song from the SD card. Perhaps whatever is accessing the song will throw an error the next time it tries to play it and it may give you a clue as to what's causing the problem.

When the song is playing, does the music app show up...can you see what app is actually playing the song? Is it possible you have set the song as a notification for something like a facebook, email, next SMS alert...or as an alarm clock for that matter?

Well there's also Customer Rep training that comes after testing. Usually when the training is scheduled, the release date can be finalized. Case in point, what about the OTA update we got on 1/22...that date was released well in advance. Even Motorolla leaked the 2.1 release ahead of time...
