I was going to hold out for the Note 8 but I couldn't resist. I just traded in my LG V20 for the S8 and have zero regrets. This thing is a beast. I too was worried about the battery, and time will tell if it will hold up, but so far I'm not mad at it.

It does. There are 5 choices; just charge, charge connected device, transfer files and use as MIDI. I tried the MIDI option but that didn't work.

Do it. You won't be disappointed. Its a great phone. Not perfect, but great nonetheless.
