The only way I've found to do this is to have one of the Samsung flip cases (clearview, S view). When you open the cover, there is no need to swipe: it goes straight to the home screen, unless you have exceeded your lock time. Then you et the fingerprint screen.

I am not encrypted, and I can't use the trusted device feature now. That's because my company's security policy prevents it. So I think the answer is independent of encryption, but rather dependent on the policy your company will push to your phone in order to get email.

I'm on AT&T, and my battery drains faster if I am also connected to WiFi. The main new battery hog when this happens is cell standby.

You're right, but that doesn't disable Air Command from popping up when I press the stylus button. Just tried it. The only thing you can disable on Air Command is if the floating icon sticks around or not. The act of having Air Command pop up when I click the button doesn't seem to be killable...
