How do you connect to 4g?

I don't believe the 4G LTE antenna is always on and searching for a signal. If the CDMA/LTE mode is selected, and you are connected to a 3G network, the antenna turns on at some interval specified by whatever to check for a 4G signal. If you don't want to use the 4G network, just select CDMA...

    LTE in Memphis :O

There's quite a bit of 4G up and running in Memphis. Several people have been mapping the Cordova area. See the attached Sensorly screenshot. There are aparrently a couple towers near the airport that are being upgraded, including one just to the north of you. Several have completed testing...

[HOW-TO] Use NFC Tags With Samsung Galaxy SIII

Re: [HOW-TO] Use NFC Tags With Samsung Galaxy S3 I don't think there's any security for these tags yet, and you actually program the tag itself, not the device. Any device with NFC can read the tag and perform the action programmed. You can lock the specific tag, though, so that no one can...

keyboard question. I want a comma

A workaround is selecting the word you just typed in the predictive text area. Afterwards, there are a handful of punctuation marks that pop up, including the comma. Using this method negates the requirement to hit the space bar, as a space will be automatically input when you start typing the...

New 2nd update kills search functionality?

Palm had a universal search function in WebOS. It is incredibly stupid that Samsung would have to remove such a feature due to the threat of a lawsuit.

    Magnetic activation? Sensor holster?

No, I don't believe these phones have a reed switch. You could probably use NFC tiles though.

    4G radio button?

Settings -> More Settings (under wireless and network) -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode. I believe the default is CDMA only. You can change it to CDMA/LTE and it requires a phone reset. I don't believe there's a 4G toggle anymore. The "Sprint Automatic Connections" will determine whether...

Multitasking gripes... Is there a better way?

I also just jumped to the GS3 from a launch day Palm Pre-. I only had to get one replacement due to a broken power button! I loved the keyboard and the fact that I could just start typing to find anything I wanted. I did see this app that simulated multitasking a la WebOS, though it's no...

    voicemail-to-text subscription, disable!

The fine print said that it would automatically be disabled at the end of the month. You would have to opt in in order to continue using the service. I figured I'd give it a shot for free. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Android Central Forums
