Here's how to hide the notification preview As of Android Marshmallow, you can control notification previews via Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced -> Hangouts -> Preview in Popups. In Android Nougat, go to Settings -> Notifications -> Hangouts, and check "Show silently".- Dan Dascalescu
