You can try the app "Bump" or simply save your contacts to the sim or other Att app.

Have you signed in to the Google Play Store yet? Also I believe you have to enable backup on the s5 in order for it to do your Apps. The Smart Switch works well. I think if you go to the app store on your PC you can push your apps or share them with your other device as well.

Try clicking on the edit button at the top. It should have most the Icons there that you can enable or disable.
