Yes, I'm on virgin mobile.

From the home screen, hit the menu button. Select 'personalize'. Select the 'sound' tab at the bottom of the screen. Select 'notification sound'. Select 'email'. Then set the sound you want and hit 'apply' at the bottom of the screen.

Have you tried pulling the battery?

What phone do you have because the battery should be removable? It is on mine anyway.

Did you try resetting it?

Dialing in ##CLEAR# and tapping reset will not hurt your phone.

Try dialing ##CLEAR# into the dialer. Tap reset in the top right corner.

Might try dialing ##CLEAR# in the dialer. Then tap reset on the next screen. If that doesn't work you may have to call VM.

This phone does not work with 4G LTE. It only works with 4G wimax.

The reason it starts up so fast is likely due to the fact that you have fast boot turned on. This allows the phone to go into a sort of hibernation mode. To turn this off just goto settings, power, and untick the box next to fast boot. Your phone should now turn off completely.

On my phone the fourth one is People.

The phone should go to the next song on its own.

Just wipe then install stock ROM then reboot. You can also wipe caches but I think data wipe/factory reset wipes everything but sdcard.
