No, the carrier doesn't send another copy back to me - but I get a drop-down notification at the top of my screen a couple minutes after I send a message, accompanied by my message notification sound, as if I have a new incoming message ... but the notification has my name rather than the name...

I don't think it's a read report - those only exist in Samsung-to-Samsung. This is happening with every text I'm sending.
