Android 11 / OneUI 3.1 rollout started in South Korea and now the US! (updated title 1/26)

I just noticed that while Volume Up is working fine, just a simple/quick press on Volume Down and it acted like I held Volume Down until (or past when) volume zero'ed out. So I wiped off the button with a damp cloth and, for now, all is well again. But clearly something to watch out for. dave

Stuck in Safe Mode after V11

I think that I can answer my own question here. My Volume Down (not Volume Up) button was stuck on. Volume worked fine but Volume Down went to zero even on a quick press. I just kind of wiped it off with a damp cloth and (for now) it seems to be working. Something to watch out for, I guess. dave

Stuck in Safe Mode after V11

I have a 4'ish week old Samsung Tab S7 (USA, Wifi only) and I just did an update (which was Android 11). On exiting the update I was put in Safe Mode and have been there ever since. I can swipe down and tell the system to turn off Safe Mode, but after the restart I am still in Safe Mode. I can...

Android 11 / OneUI 3.1 rollout started in South Korea and now the US! (updated title 1/26)

I have a roughly 4 week old Tab S7 (USA, WiFi only) and just finished the update to Android 11. I am absolutely stuck in Safe Mode. I can swipe down and to turn it off, but it just restarts in Safe Mode. I can manually turn off the device (since when did powering down get hard to do???) and I...

    AMOLED (or not)

FWIW, I ended up ordering an S7. I have had it for 2 days now and am pleased. If this screen is in some way inferior to the AMOLED screen on my 8 inch S2, it is certainly not obvious. The 120 hz (vs 60 on the S2) display is obvious if you look for it when quickly scanning up/down a long document...

    AMOLED (or not)

Very interesting. It is worth considering and if it ends up with the level of discounting that we see in the Samsung Tablets it might well be compelling. Thanks. dave

    AMOLED (or not)

Thanks, Mooncatt. That is very helpful. dave

    AMOLED (or not)

Just found this post here ( https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-tab-s7-s7-plus/1013876-deciding-between-s6-s7-thoughts-about-lcd-amoled-screen.html#post6882104 ) which addresses the question (plus a ton of burn-in discussion). dave

    AMOLED (or not)

I have an aging Tab S2 (8 inch) that is developing some age related problems (just like me - DOB 1949). My primary use is a media viewer (Netflix, Youtube, etc) while I ride my exercise bike in cold weather. Then there is a lot of supplemental stuff like email, music playback, video recorder...

    Living With Version 7

Thanks for the suggestion ( I was unaware of the option). No luck in this case, but maybe the next time, assuming that I decide to try to live with this problem. dave

    Living With Version 7

I recently had to do a factory reset on my Samsung Tab S2 tablet. I have run into an issue where a Sports app that I had been using is no longer available on Google Play (at least to me running V7). I am not a heavy duty user and am now seeing that V7 is no longer supported. So no more security...

    S2 Video Editor File Location

I'll answer my own question. You have to 'EXPORT' to actually get a new file. I am new to video editing and I am guessing that those with experience here would have figured this out quickly. dave

    S2 Video Editor File Location

I am very new to Android and mobile computing (using a Galaxy S2 that I am just figuring out). I come from a Windows background. I used the S2 camera this morning to take a short video. I downloaded the 'Video Editor" (V692.2) and that was fine. I was able to trim off the unwanted stuff and I...
