    You can update the OS.But as per warranty I think it will be not covered if you do it manually by yourself.

    It is not obsolete.Newer versions are coming off and on.If your device works well for you,you should keep it.

    I think it is the demand of the time.When newer technologies arrive it is most obvious that older versions will not work.So it is better to upgrade to a newer version.

    If you download applications frequently,most of the times you can found it under download folder.

    YouSnap is a great option.It is really helpful when capturing writing on the board.It has another option to export it directly as PDF also.

    I really liked the CamScanner.It is easy to use.You can first try its free version before buying a paid one.This app help you to auto-detect the edge of the paper and help you to tune the dimentions. Thanks
