Same for me... screen doesn't respond to ambient light. I have noticed that the keyboard backlight *does* adjust in response to the sensor (located at the upper left corner, kindly pointed out to me by George at Skinomi when I wondered why there was a cutout in their carbon-fiber skin there)...
