when travelling, the easiest way to connect to a 'guest' TV in a hotel room, is by using a usb/mhl/hdmi adapter. We use this all the time with our Sony Zperia devices. (see other threads for the amazon fire stick workaround)

Re: Battery swelling on my xperia z3 compact surely, if it's under warranty you should take it back to your point of purchase and get it replaced. Otherwise, get it sent off to sony for a replacement. you may find(if you're lucky!) that it still gets a 'free' repair/replacement.
