if you go into your messaging app settings, there is an option there to display a preview of the text in the notification area and lock screen. Remove that check mark and you'll be set. The downside though is that you lose the preview in the notification area as this setting is for both...

Re: How to block texts from email addresses? Are you sure it was a text message? In the past I had received something that could be similar, and found that it was the 'Talk' app. I disabled that and haven't had the issue since. Not saying that's what is happening to you, but it's a thought.

I also suggest DroidWall. Love that app. I get to control which apps get to have access to the internet via both WiFi and 3G/4G. Have to be rooted to use it tho.
