I'm struggling to comprehend what that would mean for tablets. I guess it's the same direction Microsoft is taking with Windows 10. I say it's brilliant and will generate an even playing field of device ecosystems.
If the technology that goes into battery packs somehow gets ahead of the tech that goes into inbuilt batteries, I don't think they'll be going anywhere.
I think the way Apple manages their phone line up when it comes to features is a bit on the treat'em mean keep'em keen side. That way they can announce widgets and cause an uproar.
For me it's all about the ecosystem. I love my Google ecosystem, but Apple's ecosystem of OS, nice hardware, and pretty UI is compelling. I'll never abandon my beloved android though.
