I believe you go into "Settings/Accounts and sync settings" and add your gmail account. you should then be able to autosync etc.

I use the latest firefox. you can sync bookmarks, history etc through Firefox "Sync Now". PC and device are connected through a pin you enter on your PCs Firefox (the pin you obtained from the firefox on the device when you try to sync). cheers edit.oops, I see it's already mentioned in post #4.
