SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

Good luck. I went through rounds with ATT and Samsung. ATT did send me a replacement S3 device but the problem came back. Samsung told me that it was the micro sd cards (PNY, Kingston and Sandisk) that I was using. They told me to get a Samsung micro sd card.

This is not the same issue but I find it interesting that Samsung messed up sd card permissions for the S4 in the 4.3 update. http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/08/galaxy-s4-google-edition-with-android-4-3-breaks-sd-card-writing-for-apps/

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

This problem stinks for anyone who actively uses micro sd cards. I got so frustrated that I eventually went back to using an iPhone. I went through 2 S3 phone replacements and tried 3 different sd card (Sans disk, Kingston, pny) manufacturers.

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

I tried that already and it doesn't work. When my first Sandisk sd card was formated as FAT32, I lost data regularly. When formatted as exFAT, I don't lose data it just unmounts unexpectedly.

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

This problem sucks. I am an iPhone convert. I used the iPhone for 5 yrs. I dig all the features of Android and S3 with the exception of the sd card issues I am having. I got a replacement s3 in March. The problem came back after 2 weeks with new non Sansdisk sd card. In June, I go...

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

I hope getting a Samsung sd card is the solution. I do recall hearing s3 owners in this thread wirh Samsung sd card problems with the s3 as well.

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

I think s3 owners are seeing 2 separate related issues either at once or different times. 1)hardware defect Sandisk sd card 2)hardware defect in Samsung s3 sd card slot. I am not using a Sandisk card anymore. I didn't format the sd card, but I am still having random unmounting by my...

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

I was a long time iPhone user for 4 years. I switched in October. I am really enjoying Android with the exception of this hardware issue. I am switching back to Apple because Samsung hasn't done anything about this issue.

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

Plain and simple. It's a Samsung s3 hardware defect with micro sd cards that affects some folks. Samsung won't own up to it.

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

That's an interesting theory and good troubleshooting. My first S3 which I bought in Oct came with firmware older than 4.0.4. I dont remember exactly what version it was before that. I upgeade to 4.0.4 the first day and it had sd card problems right out of the gate with pny, sandisk and...

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

This problem is very frustrating. On my replacement s3, the data isn't getting deleted randomly. Now the only problem is random unmounting. A quick reboot usually allows the s3 to remount the sd and all is well. I no longer save my photos/videos taken on my s3 on the sd card. I store it...

Is your s3 still under warranty? If so, you should contact your carrier. I was able to get a replacement warranty. The issue on replacement s3 is not as crazy as my first one.

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

I think there are 2 issues. Those with sandisk sd cards and s3s with sd card issues. My first s3 fried an sandisk sd card, pny and kingston. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

I am sad to say that I am still having sd card problems on the replacement s3. The problems are not as severe as previously(losing data). The s3 still randomly unmounts the sd card but not as much as previous s3. Usually a reboot of s3 causes the sd card to be mounted.

SD Cards failing in Galaxy S3: Samsung's insane response.

My first s3 had those hardware issues of writing directly to the micro sd card when taking a photo. Once a photo or video was taken it would take forever to write or not write at all. My phone would become sluggish. If I reboot or shutdown, then I would never know if the phone would be able...
