I like it's ability to be used as a weapon of self-defense. Honestly, you could seriously bludgeon someone with this thing. =) Really, I like that it's the most powerful Android phone on the market AND that it's on Sprint (the most affordable smartphone carrier in the US).

I'm currently using a Palm Pre... which can barely last me half a day without a charge. Plus, I live in the Google Apps world, so I'm itching to switch to a device that handles Gmail the way it was meant to (not to mention a phone that works seamlessly with my Google Voice account).

The frustrating thing about this whole "simultaneous voice/data" debate is that I had read a few articles saying that it actually was possible on EV-DO Rev A (apparently not Rev 0). Unfortunately Sprint and Verizon chose not to roll it out this way. Not sure why, but if it was possible on...

@GadgetGirl ...can you try something for us, though? I think that I read somewhere that you can't run apps off of memory card on the G1. Since you have to install an app as one of your tasks, can you try installing to the memory card to see if this is true?

@htc news: exactly what I need to know, too... One of the other reviewers pointed out that email hitting his Gmail account will show up on a Blackberry faster than on his G1. From personal experience, my gmail-hosted mail forwarding to a free mail2web account will show up on my WinMo device...

I'm surprised that there is so much less discussion here than on the other round-robin posts. I'm actually watching each site's reviews eagerly, because this year's comparison coincidentally fell right before the end of my Sprint contract... and I seriously need a replacement for my aging...
