Whatever you do, do not use a standard QI charging pad. It overheats the watch and shuts it down. Amazon sells a third-party charger that looks jsut like the samsung. I bought one for $9 and have it on my night stand. Works just as good as the OEM one.

Wow! What an odd thing. I didn't even think about crud getting inside the bezel. I tend to take mine off when I shower, but maybe I'll start wearing it to let it get a rinse.

Did you factory reset afterwards? I'm seeing about 10% more battery drop... EDIT: I did a factory reset last night and charged the watch to 100%. As usual, woke up this morning and it is at 89% (before the update it would be at 96%)

I thought at first it was about the same but now I see the same hit too. I used to get three days no problem. I'd charge up every other evening but now I'm seeing two days max. I guess it's not as bad as others have experienced. For instance, I used to charge to 100% right before bed...

Installed mine yesterday. Seems to be getting the same battery life as the last version (2.5-3 days). I use it to track workouts and get most of my notifications from it. So far I'm pretty happy and the update seems pretty stable overall.

I have a similar issue with my ford sync. Whenever I connect my Note 8, my Gear S3 drops connection. I can go in manually with my phone and re-connect, but it drops a few minutes later.

I agree. I never charge my S3 any longer than I have too. Another thing to note - do not ever put the watch on wireless charger meant for a phone. I made that mistake once and almost fried my frontier. Luckily, the over-charge function kicked in and shut the watch down.

There are a few watch faces in the gear store that show both gear and phone battery level. Just have to find them.

Question - do you start an exercise on your S3, or do you let it auto-detect it? I notice when I let it auto-detect it doesn't give me a heart rate reading, which leads to inaccurate calorie burn. I haven't tried manually starting an exercise.

I had the same problem. I read elsewhere to tap the microphone, then tap the three dots and re-select auto or english again (mine already said auto but I selected it again). After that it worked just fine. I have used it to send texts while driving.

I haven't experienced that issue. Maybe a factory reset? Does the app also show the battery at 75%? Or just the watch?
