I wouldn't say it that way. I would say it differently. I would say "probably the best course of action when the problem is the infotainment system". Exactly how to determine if the problem is the infotainment system is not clear to me, but after about an hour of trying stuff without success...

Come on, help us all out, be specific. What is the update? Give us the version number. Tell us where you go it from. (And who is rolling out an update? Is it an update for your phone, or for your car's Android Auto?)

Does anyone know how I can install an earlier version of Android Auto. The play store has 7.8.622514, which is what I have installed, I'd like to go back to something earlier and try that.
